At stretchy.us, every stretch is done with presence and intention. We don't reduce your session to a means to an end.

From your first scheduled session with Stretchy, we pair you with the most experienced stretcher. We provide detailed instructions for getting to the location, whether it's our outdoor location in Foster City or our indoor/outdoor location in Sunnyvale. Once we receive your request, we start pairing you with the right provider, and you'll receive an email and/or text confirming your session.

When you arrive, you are greeted warmly and given a brief but thorough onboarding, during which we ask about any recent injuries and problem areas. If we believe your injury is too recent, we will recommend rest or seek medical advice. We go over our 1-10 number system, emphasizing “7,” which says you're being challenged enough but not in pain. We let you know that you will hear a countdown from 10 to 1 / 15 to 1, or 20 to 1, letting you know that we will be letting you out of your stretch. We won't ever just let you out carelessly. Also, “you're the boss.” For any micro-adjustments, please let us know during the stretch, and we will do our best to make them.

Once you're on the table, everything out of your pockets and shoes stays on. During the stretch, our provider explains what they are doing and shares some light knowledge of the muscle group. Our providers have backgrounds in Kinesiology, Personal Training, or Physical Therapy, so they have a good grasp of anatomy.

At Stretchy, we believe in talking you into your comfortable max, then holding the stretch with PNF, or Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, one of the most effective stretching techniques available. By alternating between contraction and relaxation, PNF helps your muscles achieve a greater range of motion than passive stretching alone. We blend your input for maximum benefit.

After your stretch ends, we have you get off the table and take a light walk about 10-15 feet back to help you regain blood flow. Then we send you on your way. 24-48 hours after your session, you will receive a follow-up check-in; you may be a bit sore, especially after your first session.
